Dr.(Mrs.) A.V. Raman, Ph.D(N)

        Dr. (Mrs.) A.V. Raman, Dean, Joined Omayal Achi College of Nursing in the year 1995 and started M.Sc(N) Programme in the same year. At present the 14th batch of M.Sc(N) is on roll.  She has presented and published more than 22 Research papers at National and International conferences. She has also published seven golden books in Nursing. She initiated the the publication of college Annual magazine, "Nurture" in the year 1996. During her tenure, Memorandum of Understanding were signed between Omayal Achi College of Nursing and College of Nursing and Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Canada, Queen Margarete University, Edinburgh, Scotland and Simon Fraser university British Columbia. Besides her Contribution to education, She has demontrated a high level  of  commitment to community services. During her tenure Omayal Achi Community Health centre has been recognized by Medical Council of India for education and Training of Doctors in the area of community health and family medicine. Dr. Raman's interest in Maternal and child health services is commendable. Under five Clinic at Omayal Achi Community Health  Centre Arakampakkam and delivery by Skilled Birth Attendant are the examples.

           Her outstanding nursing care has earned her the "Best Nurse of Lucknow Award" by the Rotary Club in 1960, the "Punjab University Medal" in 1972 for B.Sc(N), "President of India Gold Medal" for her Academic Excelleance in 1976 in M.Sc(N)., "For the Sake of Honour Award" for her Life Time Achievement in Nursing by Rotary Club  of Tambaram in 2006, The "Rashtriya Vidya Saraswathy Puraskar Award" by IIM, Delhi for Administration and education in the year 2006, "Renuka Mukerjee Somasekar Best Teacher Award" in the year 2007.

  In the year 2008 Dr.(Mrs.) A.V. Raman had got two Prestigious award for her service and dedication to the Field. 
   

 Dr. (Mrs.) A.V. Raman received the "National       Florence Nightingale Award"     by  Smt. Prathiba Devisingh Patil,  President of India on 12th May 2008 in Rashtrapathi Bhawan, New Delhi. Given in Public Recognition of Valuable Services to the Community as a Nurse.

Dr. (Mrs.) A.V. Raman received the "TNAI Centenary Award"  by  Hon'ble former President Dr. A.P.J. Kalam on 4th October 2008 during Centenary Conference at Mumbai.

Given in appreciation and professional recognition for commendable contributions towards Nursing education, Nursing research, Nursing Profession at large.
