Strategies, an International Center for
Collaborative Research in Primary Health Care
was established in the year 2008, by the College
in partnership with the Department of Academic
Family Medicine,

Canada.
About the
Conference:
Qualitative Research combines a
scientific as well as a human approach to
enhance the understanding of the overall human
health experience and artistic nature to
enhance
the understanding of the human health
experience. Many aspects of human values,
culture and relationship cannot be described
fully using only quantitative methods and
mathematical formulas. The
growing enthusiasm and acceptance of the promise
that Qualitative Research methods offers to
theory development in nursing, are
representative of change, transition and
evolution in this discipline – a very
positive symptom of transition from normal to
extraordinary research.
The increased interest in the use of
qualitative research methods and the emergence
of mixed method approach has created a need for
the organization of this International
Conference, on “Qualitative Research
Methods” which will be facilitated by Visiting
Professors from the
University
of
Saskatchewan
,
Canada
and
College
of
Nursing
, Queen Margaret University, Scotland.
Nurses as health care professionals would
clearly like to strengthen their understanding
of the experiences of individuals and the basic
social processes that illuminate all aspects of
human health and illness. This conference is an
appeal to nurses and others to utilize
qualitative methods to describe and interpret
perplexing human phenomena. The Conference will
stress on various qualitative methods i.e.,
Mixed Method Research, Qualitative Analysis,
Knowledge Mobilization, Ethics in Qualitative
Research and Writing a Qualitative Manuscript.
Goal:
The Goal of the Conference is to engage in
mutual learning about qualitative research that
will stimulate practitioners, students,
academics in health and related fields and their
community partners to engage in utilizing
qualitative research methods.
Objectives:
· To disseminate information on
concepts, ethics and methods involved in
conducting qualitative research.
· To learn from experts the various
tools used in qualitative research and knowledge
mobilization.
· To develop skill in writing a
manuscript for qualitative research.
