Application form and prospectus can be obtained online or from the Omayal Achi College of Nursing, King Cross Road, Sathyamurthy Nagar, Avadi, Chennai - 600 062. On payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees Hundred only) by DD / cash / Money Order drawn in favour of Omayal Achi College of Nursing.

Take printout in fullscape paper, fill the form and send it to the above mentioned address with DD / Money Order drawn in favour of Omayal Achi College of Nursing. Application forms without DD/Money Order will not be considered.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  1. Only female candidates are eligible

  2. All Candidates should have a minimum educational requirement of  pass in Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course)     

    (Or)

    Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree Examinations (10+2)

    (Or)

    An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with any subjects with minimum 35% marks pass in all subjects preferably in English Medium

  3. A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

  4. Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course. 

Admission Procedure: 

  1. Application form and Prospectus can be obtained from The Principal, Omayal Achi College of Nursing, Sathyamoorthy Nagar, Avadi, Chennai-600 062. on payment of  Rs 100/- by cash/DD drawn in favour of Omayal Achi College of Nursing.

  2. The Sanctioned annual intake of the College is 20 and will be filled up by the Management.

  3. The intending candidates must submit their application in the prescribed Form to The Principal, Omayal Achi College of Nursing, Sathyamoorthy Nagar, Avadi, Chennai-600 062.

  4. Two self addressed envelopes of size 28 cm by 13cm should be enclosed with the application, with a Rs5/- stamp on each envelope. 

  5. Xerox copies of the mark sheets and other documents should be enclosed along with the application in the order requested by us.  

  6.  A list of eligible candidates in order of merit will be prepared by the College Selection Committee after interviewing the candidate.

 Eligibility Certificate:

The candidate who has passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated institutions shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the University by remitting the prescribed fees along with application form which shall be downloaded from the University website (www.tnmmu.ac.in)

Registration

All Candidates admitted should register their name with The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R Medical university by submitting the prescribed application form for registration duly filled, along with the prescribed fee and a declaration in the format to the Academic Officer of the University through the head of the institution within 30 days from the cut-off date prescribed for the course for admission. The applications should have date of admission of the course.

Commencemet of the Programme:

The course shall commence from  August/ September of the academic year.

Medium of Instruction:

English shall be the medium of Instruction for all the subjects of study and for examinations.

Instructional Facilities:

With qualified nursing, medical and non-medical faculty, the College of Nursing will offer high quality programme of study.  Method of instruction includes formal lectures, group discussions, laboratory sessions, field work and planned clinical experience, under faculty guidance.  Provision is also made for individual guidance and various clinical experiences.  A well organized counseling department also helps the student for their development.

Attendance: 

  1. The minimum requirement is 100% of the attendance of the Clinical experience including community health nursing experience and 100 % attendance of the lectures in each subject in each year.

  2. Any day of absence in the Clinical area without prior permission will be counted as two days of absence and will have to be  made up subsequently.  The mark list will be withheld until all the absenteeism has been made up.

Examination Board: 

As per the regulations of The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Guindy.

 

Curriculum:

The curriculum and syllabus for the programme shall be as prescribed by the Standing Academic Board, The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Guindy from time to time.

Vacation

No Vacation will be given except for the list of holidays given by the management.

 

Uniform:

  1. Students are required to wear the uniform prescribed by the College during clinical experience.

  2. Students should have their hair put up and should wear only prescribed foot wear.

  3. Students are not allowed to wear any jewellery except small ear rings during the clinical experience.

 

Conduct and Discipline:

  1. Students are  responsible to the Principal for the behaviour both in and outside the College.

  2. Students should maintain silence in the class, library and in the corridors when lectures are in session.

  3. Students should make every effort to take care of the College, hostel and hospital property.

  4. Any willful damage done to the property of the College, Hostel and Hospital will be dealt with as a breach of discipline.

  5. Students are required to abide by the rules and regulations laid by the hospital, hostel and College authorities. Violation of rules will entail disciplinary action.

  6. Students are required to maintain ethical and professional standards and behaviors.

 

Hostel:

Is Optional on payment of prescribed fees.

 

Fees: 

Rs.20,000/- per year

      At the beginning of each year the student should comply with all the admission requirements and pay all the fees for the year, failing which, if for any personal reason the student voluntarily wishes to discontinue, then they must pay the tuition fees along for the remaining year.
