The curriculum and syllabi for the course will be monitored jointly by Omayal Achi College of Nursing and The Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh and modified if necessary from time to time.

The College is equipped with the requisite infra structure and has a highly
qualified faculty, capable of offering a quality programme of study. Method
of instruction includes formal lectures, group discussions, laboratory sessions,
fieldwork and planned clinical experience under faculty guidance. Provision
is also made for individual guidance and various clinical experiences. A
well-organized counseling department also helps the students over their
personality development.
Besides theory taught by faculty trained and approved by Queen Margaret
University College, Edinburgh, Clinical training to the students in this
programme will be given at the following health Care Centres and Hospitals.

Rural Community Health Centre, Arakkambakkam which provides comprehensive health services to the community and enriches students' experience in community Health Nursing. The centre is run by the College and
since February 2003 has been recognized the Medical Council of India as a
centre of learning for CRRI (Medical) students.
- Primary Health Centre, Avadi.
- Sir Ivan Stedeford Hospital, Ambattur, managed by AMM Foundation, an
associate of MR.Omayal Achi MR.Arunachalam Trust. The hospital has been
recently awarded the ISO 2003 Certification.
- Vijaya Hospital, Vadapalani.
- Sundaram Medical Foundation, Anna Nagar.
- Public Health Centre, West Mamabalam.
- The Institute of Mental Health, Kilpauk.
- Lothian University Hospitals Trust, Scotland (Training in this institution
is subject to certain terms and conditions).
A high academic performance is expected from the students joining this
programme. Students' academic progress would be monitored through
monthly assessment and evaluation. Students who do not show any progress
or who fail repeatedly in the internal examinations may not be allowed to
appear for the semester examination or to even continue the course.
Degrees will be awarded by the Queen Margaret University College to
students successfully completing the one year programme.
On successful completion of the programme the student has the option to do
a three month bridge course in the Lothian University Hospitals Trust in
Scotland. The bridge course would enable the candidate to register with the
National Nursing and Midwifery Council, United Kingdom. The option to
Do the three month bridge course in Scotland must be exercised by the student
Six months in advance of the completion of the course in India and is subject
to such restrictions and conditions as may be imposed by the Queen Margaret
University College at the relevant point in time.
